My Boston Terriers, Tooie, and Magpie are enjoying the summer sun......

This photo is of the landscape that I made in the class taught by Shirley Patterson at our summer retreat.  This was a fun, fun project and I didn't have any trouble finishing it....

3 MONTHS TILL CHRISTMAS......

LOL... and I have finished 20 of my Christmas Aprons - now all the family will have one.... and my dilemma now is whether or not to make a few more for friends..... well.... I do have some time.

Tooie, the Boston Terrier, has an owie..... he had to have a nail removed as he ripped most of it off.... so he has been taking it easy for the last day or so.

I have been busy organizing quilting classes for work, quilting for customers, and getting ready for a Machine Quilting class and lecture that I will be doing in Pincher Creek, Alberta on October 3/4..... then it's off to Las Vegas for my 50th birthday trip with a friend that I have known since Grade 1...... and then... well I better get my houses done for the House Swap(right, Betsy??).....

Tooie the Boston Terrier wants to play.....

Tooie the Boston Terrier.........

got an enormous paper cut on one of his little toes when he "tore" at an envelope that I had sitting on the floor..... BUT.... then the little paper cut turned into a torn toe nail after he caught it in the carpet!!!! .... THEN the toe nail had to be removed..... poor little guy..... The picture on the left is when he just was "limping" around with the little paper cut..... the pic on the right is after the "surgery" to remove the toe nail. Of course, we have to ensure he doesn't get infection.... so he pretty much has to stay in the house..... The bandage is off now.... and it looks pretty ugly... but so far so good......

A favorite (BOSTON TERRIER) thought for the day...

One of my most favorite " Thought for the Day" 's is one that I heard on the Rabbi Schmuley show, on Oprah.com radio.
"Morality is determined by how you treat the people you don't need"
Wow - when I heard that quote I really really was impressed... cause I really believe it.... and I thought about how I treat people every day... or perhaps how I treat people I met on the internet... or just comments I may have left on blogs or sites on the internet.... makes me think everyday - and I realize that I really do live by that quote - what a blessing!! to recognize and appreciate!

We have a bright and sunny day here and I am tearing up carpet in anticipation of new! I had done some of my wool applique blocks over the weekend and will post some in a day or so... have a super day!

Annie the Boston Terrier....

came for a visit yesterday. Annie was the first Boston that we fostered in 2006. She was blind and had a bad ulcer on her eye; but the ulcer healed and she found a new forever home! She looked wonderful and we had a great time... I think she even remembered us.

The first picture on the left is the day she went to her forever home... I bought her a new red coat. The other pictures are of Annie yesterday... She looks great!

Nostalgia.....

My sewing room used to be my son's room. I am in the process of cleaning it out so that it can be painted. The picture below is of the wall just to the right of the door - chronicles his height from 2002 until 2006 - when he moved to his basement room..... the wall is a pale robin's egg blue - so you might have to click on the picture to enlarge it to get a good look... he's about a foot taller than the last line... a bit of nostalgia..

Tooie the Boston Terrier, is doing terrific since his surgery! He feels better as he can now sleep properly - and he hardly snores at all. Perhaps this surgery could be a cure for hubbies who snore, LOL.

Tooie, the Boston Terrier

My little male dog, Tooie, had surgery yesterday - he had 3 cysts removed from his back, he had throat surgery - an elongated soft palette - which means the vet lasered some of his soft palette away at the back of his throat.... AND he was netuered.... I couldn't believe it when we brought him home today - he's just doing great..... poor little guy! He's doing great and even wanted to play with his toys tonight!

Prim Annie with Boston....

This little doll is one of the favorite prim dolls that I have made. She is holding a wee little Boston Terrier in her shopping bag (made from a piece of antique quilt). I have had her for about a year and now she is off to Ontario for a Boston Terrier Club of Canada Rescue event - to be auctioned off to a new home in support of Rescue. I name all of the dolls that I make "Annie" because the very first foster dog I had in my home was named Annie... and she was blind.... and she is still alive and doing well in her adoptive home. The pattern that I used for this doll was adapted from a doll I saw in Australian Patchwork and Quilting - I love that magazine!

SUNDAY, LAZY, SUNDAY??

not!!! It is not as cold here this week as it was last week - so there is no excuse for sitting around doing nothing. Yesterday I took my little "babies" to a Boston Terrier Meetup group for an hour. This is sort of a "playdate" for dogs... yes, I know - weird, BUT believe it or not dogs get antsy when they are cooped up for a week! They had fun AND they will sleep the rest of the weekend.

In my never ending search for UFO completion - I finished my Moda, Cherry Hill Sampler Quilt - granted it has panels in it so it wasn't that hard to get finished - but I have had it for about 3 years - so I guess it was time to get it done. I LOVE the dark reds and black and want to applique REAL blocks like the panels!!

UFO COMPLETED...

I completed my Baa Baa Sisterhood quilt and have moved it from the "piecing" UFO list to the "quilting" UFO lift - LOL....hmmm do I need to make another

list of "who's going to get this quilt"???
